Chapter 01
The color on your car is not the color in the code
A paint code tells you what the factory sprayed the day the car was built. It does not tell you what a decade or more of Texas Panhandle sun has done to it since. Match to the code alone and the new panel comes back a shade too clean, which reads as an obvious repair from clear across a parking lot, even to someone who could not tell you why it looks off.
The second problem is what the panel is actually made of. A modern car can carry three different substrates within a few feet of each other, a steel fender, a plastic bumper cover, a fiberglass part, and each one takes color a little differently. That is why we list metal painting, fiberglass painting and plastic painting separately instead of treating a car as one uniform surface.

We match to the car sitting in front of us under real light, not to a swatch, spray out a test panel, check it, and adjust before the actual panel ever gets a coat. The color is then blended into the panels on either side rather than stopped flat at the seam, which is the difference between a repair you can find and one you cannot.
Masking and prep are most of the labor and none of the photographs, sanded primer, taped edges, a clean booth, all of it done before a drop of color goes on. Motorcycles and full custom color jobs come through the same booth as the collision work, which is a large part of why the shop can take on a full custom paint job at all rather than only touch-up work.
Chapter 03
A lifetime warranty is a claim about the prep, not the paint
Paint almost never fails from the top down. It fails from underneath, from contamination under the color coat, a substrate that was not prepped right, or an edge that was never properly sealed. That is why the lifetime warranty is really a statement about everything that happened before the color went on, not a claim about the paint itself sitting in the can.
New paint does not need a special routine, just an honest one. Leave it alone for the first stretch rather than running it through anything harsh, wash it by hand, and bring the car back to 201 S Ong Street if the finish ever lifts or fails. The warranty covers our workmanship for as long as you own the car, whether the paint job was two years ago or twelve.
