Family owned on the same corner since 1949.
Acme Body Shop is family owned and locally owned, and it has repaired and repainted cars from this same address since 1949. That is more than seventy years of the same trade at the same intersection, long enough that the shop is now working on cars that belong to the children and grandchildren of the people who first drove in.
The corner did not move. Almost everything else did.
In 1949 a car was a steel body over a steel frame, and putting one right after a wreck meant hammering panels back to shape and mixing paint by eye until it matched. The vehicles that come through the same door today are steel, aluminum and plastic composite all on one frame, held together with adhesives and welds that call for the right equipment and the right training, not just a steady hand. What has not changed is the two things that actually decide whether a repair holds: the metal has to sit true again, and the color has to match, not just come close. Both are still the job, whichever decade you are standing in, and both are covered in full on our collision repair page.
Being at 201 S Ong Street this long also means the shop has dealt with insurance claims a very long time, which is why Acme works directly with adjusters and accepts insurance payment coverage rather than leaving that back and forth to the customer. A body shop does not have much to sell beyond the people doing the work and whether they are still around next year. Two of them get named by customers directly: Coury, who handles insurance paperwork and keeps people updated while a repair is underway, and Kurt, who is usually the one meeting a car at drop off. Both are still on the floor at 201 S Ong Street.

What a lifetime warranty actually commits us to.
A lifetime warranty on paint is a promise that outlasts the transaction. If a repair Acme did starts to fail, peeling, fading unevenly, or lifting at an edge, the shop puts it right for as long as the original owner has the car. That is a different kind of promise than a receipt, and it only works because the surface prep and the paint system were done correctly the first time.
It is also why the estimate is free. The shop would rather look at the car in person and be straightforward about what it needs than guess at a price and cut a corner to hit it later. The same warranty applies whether the vehicle is a personal car or a work truck brought in through our fleet vehicle repair line, where downtime matters as much as the damage itself.
